PIROVAC is a lively, very beautiful town with many natural endowments. Industrious hands of few inhabitants (2.000) ornamented it through past centuries, since 1298., with historic monuments of lasting value. This ancient Dalmatian town is situated at the farthest western point of the Sibenik-Knin County in the Bay of Pirovac and connected with Šibenik via an Adriatic tourist road. It is 23 km away from Šibenik, 48 km from Zadar, 85 km from Trogir and 108 km from Split. Having close high-way exit, Pirovac has excellent road connection with other places in Republic of Croatia, and its location is at the middle of the Adriatic coast. Closeness of Airport Zadar (40km) and Airport Split (90km), as well as conncetion by sea way, offers divesity of transportation choice and easy acessability.

PIROVAC has always been economically, tourist-wise and ecologically turned to its greatest natural treasure – Pirovac Bay with agreeable tide that makes the sea in this bay 3-4° warmer during summer than the average temperature of the Adriatic Sea in that time of the year. Its bay is a natural phenomenon, cut in 10 km deep into the rocks and Mediterranean vegetation, which mixes its luscious scents with the genuine smell of the sea. The southern arm of the Bay of Pirovac, MAKIRINA, is a natural bathing place with curative peloid mud. The town of Pirovac prides itself with many natural beaches, sandy coves and at any time of day one can enjoy a different view of the amazing island of Sustipanac,situated right in front of Pirovac, where you can relax and enjoy swimming and sun tanning. Trimmed city beaches such as Lolić and Starine offer a range of possibilities for recreation and pastime – volleyball on sand, pedal boats, sailing, jet – ski, sport fishing and similar, whereas the pure sea has to be especially highlighted. Beautiful coves, Sitnica, Vrulje and Vrilo with their pebbly beaches and clear sea are very charming and attractive for the rest and relaxing.

Like the entire county Šibensko-kninska, Pirovac lies on the palm of two national parks: island heaven “Kornati” and beautiful river “Krka” with unique falls in Karst and it is only 5 kilometres away from the Park of Nature “Vransko jezero”, which is very suitable for recreational fishing, as well as it is close to the Park of Nature «Telaščica»

The municipality of Pirovac has a number of roads for cyclers that are especially interesting in the part of the wildlife park Vransko jezero and which further adjoin on the roads of the neighboring municipality of Pakoštane. All cycling roads are at the same time suitable for walkers and lead to several belvederes.

More serious sportsmen will find at their disposal illuminated courts for indoor-soccer, basketball and bowling, as well as tennis courts within the offer of the hotel Miran.
